For years Las Vegas topped the world as a gamblers' paradise - and even more so as a paradise for the casinos, pulling in top dollar in Sin City. By 2010, however, there may be a new king of the hill in Chinese gambling Mecca Macau, which has already closed the gap in revenue with Vegas. According to the President and Chief Operating Officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp. in a statement given on Monday, Macau's gambling revenue will double by 2010. COO William Weidner sees the Venetian leading the way as the first Mega Resort in Macau, with plenty of attractions for non gamblers.
