When thoughts turn to gambling, most people think of the closest casino to where they live, or perhaps going online to play at online casinos; when thoughts turn to the gambling capital of the world, most people think of Las Vegas, but that might be about to change. The former Portuguese colony of Macau has seen a revenue jump of 22 percent last year, skyrocketing the figure for the Chinese territory to $6.95 billion. A casino monopoly was destroyed a few years ago by the government, allowing U.S. gambling companies to get a foothold, which is partially responsible for the upswing in revenue.
