With the United States arresting foreign citizens on US soil in enforcing recent online gambling legislation in America, the European Union is taking objection. The EU's internal market Commissioner Charlie McCreevy made strong statements against the US, stating that the latter's government is guilty of protectionism. This latest action from the EU is likely caused by the arrest of two former Neteller executives in the US recently. The two, who were the founders of the online financial firm, were charged with money laundering crimes to the tune of billions of dollars.
