The Matrix in the table below suggests the best actions to take for certain hands. For example, if the cards you have been dealt are 8 and 7 for a total of 15 and the dealer is showing 6, you can use the matrix to see what your best move is. First you will look across the top row that is marked "Dealer's Hand" and find the dealer's six. Next you will look down the side to find your total of 15. Follow the 6 column to where it intersects the 15 row.
In that box is an "S". The "S" tells you to stand, so don't take any more cards. The letters in the matrix stand for the following actions:
- H = Hit (take a card)
- S = Stand (don't take any more cards)
- D = Double (double the size of your initial bet)
- P = Split (separate the two cards you have been dealt and create two separate hands)
