What is a cheater? To most of us it is somebody who uses an oversized scoop to gather marbles during a rousing game of "Hungry Hungry Hippos", or uses a mirror to see what letters their opponent has while playing scrabble. In Vegas casinos the definition is not so cut and dried. According to the folks who run the Nevada gambling oasis, cheaters can be anyone from a player who uses foreign objects to tip the odds in their favor all the way to declaring somebody who has taken the time and effort to develop the skill to win consistently on their own merit. To be blunt, anyone who takes money from the house on a regular basis can be accused of "cheating" in the eyes of Vegas. Dominic LoRiggio is one of those people who find themselves unfairly labeled as a cheater by the casino’s broad definition.
Dominic LoRiggio is so good at throwing dice he has earned nicknames as "The Dominator" and "The Man with the Golden Arm". Instead of accepting that a throw of the dice is simply something that should be left to chance, he has come up with a method that allows him to control the outcome of a dice toss. This skill has allowed him to dominate the Vegas craps tables. He takes a workman's like attitude to his preparation and practices his rolls six to eight hours a day. As a result, Dominic has nearly perfected a way of throwing the dice that ends with him winning big at craps.
Whether a casino will let him play anymore is an iffy proposition at best. For the record, what he does is not cheating. In fact LoRiggio now teaches his technique to anyone who cares to learn. |
