Rules for playing craps

Craps is the most widespread casino game. The main goal of the players is to predict the number that will fall on the dice after the roll has been made. It seems to be quite simple at the first sight but there are so many bet options that a new player can feel at a loss. But it’s not that complicated.

In the game of craps players throw two dice. And the result of each throw is the sum of numbers from 2 to 12.

The first throw is called Come Out Roll. Before this roll you should make a bet on Pass Line (win) or Don’t Pass Line (loss) of the player who is casting the dice.

After the first throw (Come Out Roll) there are some possible combinations of the dice:

Craps

(the sum of points is 2, 3 or 12)

Pass Line loses, Don't Pass Line wins (If it is 2 or 3 points, the value of winning payouts is 1 to 1; if it is 12 points, the bet is returned to the player).

Natural

(the sum of points is 7 or 11)

Don't Pass Line looses, Pass Line wins (1 to 1).

Point

(the sum of points is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10)

In this case the rolled sum of numbers is fixed and called the point. Then bets Pass Line & Don’t Pass Line should be played in this way: you need to throw the dice until it is 7 or point. If it is 7, Pass Line looses & Don’t Pass Line wins (1 to 1). If it is point, Pass Line wins (1 to 1) & Don’t Pass Line looses.

After the Pass Line & Don't Pass Line have been completed, the game starts again from the first round. Bets on Pass Line and Don't Pass Line can be accepted only before the Come Out Roll.

Here are some additional bets:

PassCome Odds Bet

It is an additional bet on the point. You can make it after the bet on the Pass Line or Come bet. This bet wins, if point falls before 7. If it is 4 or 10, the winning payouts - 2 to 1, for 5 or 9 – 3 to 2, for 6 or 8 – 6 to 5.

Don't PassCome Odds Bet

It is an additional bet on the point. You can make it after the bet on the Don’t Pass Line or Don't Come bet. This bet wins if 7 falls before the point.

Win Bet

It is a bet on one of these numbers: 4,5,6,8,9,10. The bet wins, if the point falls before 7.

Lose Bet

Hardways

It is a bet on 2:2, 3:3, 4:4 or 5:5. Bet wins if 2:2, 3:3, 4:4 or 5:5 falls before 7 and before its sum in other combination. The winning payouts for 2:2 or 5:5 are 7 to 1; for 3:3 or 4:4 – 9 to 1.

Big 6 and Big 8

These are bets on the proper sum (6 or 8). The bet wins, if this sum (6 or 8) falls before 7. The winning payouts are 1 to 1.

The next bets play only one round. A player loses his bet if none of the following combinations come.
