BLACKJACK
Don't stand on your 16 when the dealer has a 7 up. Don't split your 10s when the dealer shows a six. Don't split your two 8s when the dealer has a nine or ten up. Split your pair of aces when the dealer shows an ace. Don't take the insurance bet. Hit your 12 against the dealer's two or three. Don't mimic the dealer's rules for hitting and standing, thinking that since the casino always wins at blackjack, you will too. However, since you have to make your decisions before the dealer does and if you both go bust you still lose, giving the house an edge of + 6%!
CRAPS
Avoid the all one-roll bets such as the 2, 3, 11, and 12, Any Craps, C&E, Any Seven, whirl, world, hops, horn and the Field. Avoid the hardways as well. Don't use the place bets of 4 or 10, 5 or 9 as they all come in with edges of 6.67 % and 4 %, respectively. Instead, stick to playing the pass/don't pass; come/don't come with the maximum in odds that you can afford.
ROULETTE
Don't bet the Five Number Bet (0, 00, 1, 2, and 3) at double-zero roulette, as it comes in with an edge over 7%. As it is, the house edge on all other bets at double zero roulette is 5.26%. Instead, it recommended that you find a single-zero wheel, as the house edge is only 2.7%.
BACCARAT
Don't play mini-baccarat and don't make Tie bets, which have an edge of 14%. Stick to Bank or Play bets only, as they have edge of just over 1%.
CARIBBEAN STUD AND LET IT RIDE
Avoid the dollar side bet on both games, as it has an edge of 25%.
SLOTS
Avoid the giant progressives as the casinos have edges of 10-15% on them. Stick to slot machines without progressive meters. |
