There are some casinos which pride themselves on the intimate atmosphere, the playing down of glamour, and the camaraderie that occurs in small gambling spaces. The Atlantis Club in the Bahamas, however, is not one of these places. The Atlantis Club is a casino which is part of the Atlantis resort, and everything about both the casino and the resort simply screams decadence.
The casino itself is immense, housing 78 various gaming tables, as well as a staggering 980 slot machines. However, when people come to play at the Atlantis Club, they often come to play for high-stakes, and for those people the Atlantis Club has the “Baccarat Lounge,” where the dedicated players can go and play high-stakes games to their hearts’ content.
As if the games themselves weren’t enough, the mythically large casino also houses extravagant skylights, windows and a panoramic view of the resort, which is a stark difference from the majority of casinos which rely on enclosing their space to encourage the players to forget about anything besides the casino they are currently gracing with their patronage.
If a break from gambling is required, the Atlantis resort has a plethora of activities to choose from, including golf, theater and the largest artificial marine habitat anywhere, with approximately 200,000 forms of sea creatures.
The Atlantis resort is what you make of it. If you want the bare bones trip, you can generally get by for $500 a night. If you’re a big spender, you can live in the lap of luxury in the Bridge Suite, with runs approximately $25,000 a night, making it one of the most expensive hotel suites in the world. |
