Located on the North Strip, the Stardust Resort and Casino is more old school than hip—meaning it isn’t deliberately trying to seem retro and campy. It just is what it is—and what it’s always been. While catering to a largely Senior clientele, the Stardust is also acquiring a growing following of baby-boomers.
Open 24/7, the Stardust’s 85,000 square foot casino features 1,340 slots and eighty-three table games. Table games include 3 Card Poker (3), Baccarat (2), Blackjack (42), Caribbean Stud Poker(1), Craps (5), Let it Ride (2), Mini-Baccarat (1), Multiple Action Blackjack (1), Pai Gow Poker(4 ), Poker (10), Roulette(4 ), and Wheel-of-Fortune(2). Bet minimum starts $5, but moves up easily to $10 if the joint is crowded. Craps has 3x4x5x odds. Expect to start at $10 at Pai Gow.
Machines include 160 Penny Slots, 140 Nickel Slots, 422 Quarter Slots, 45 Half Dollar Slots, 234 Dollar Slots, 7 Twenty Five Dollar Slots, 8 Hundred Dollar Slots, 232 Progressive Slots, 260 Multi-Denomination Slots, and 354 Video Poker machines. Popular titles include Atronic's I.C. Money Anchor's Wheel of Gold, Betty Boop's Big Hit, Cool Millions, Addams Family, Quartermania, Megabucks, Nickels Deluxe, Elvis, Wheel of Fortune, and Party Time. The Stardust also offers Keno.
The sports & race book provides 66 regular and five (5) jumbo TV screens. The monster-sized screens are usually reserved for racing. There are 150 seats for sports, 200 for racing, and somewhere between 15-20 betting windows with electronic signboards. Minimum bets are $5 sports, $2 race, with race bettors getting free drinks. If you bet more than $20 on sports the casino might comp you a ticket. In fact, the casino is generous towards its customers re comps, and regular slot players will find they will get plenty of room offers in the mail. The same applies to regular table players. It’s worth it to join the Stardust’s slot club, and if you’re playing $20+ per hand, ask about buffet or coffee shop comps.
The Stardust’s 10 on-site dining options range from the usual buffet to fast food to sushi to steaks to such standards as Tony Roma’s. Their entertainment includes the unique Havana Nightclub, which features 50 Cuban performers doing the music and dance of their country and the Stardust Ballroom, where you can check out such Vegas legends as Don Rickles, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Jackie mason, and Tim Conway & Harvey Korman. The Stardust also offers Arcade, Ballroom, 25000 square foot conference center, Complimentary Drinks, Dance Floor, Free Parking, Free Valet Parking, Gift Shop, Health Club, Liquor Store, Meeting Facility, Shops, Swimming Pool, and Valet Parking. |
